The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of the isokinetic strength of knee and ankle joints in college Taekwondo competition and poomsae players. To achieve such a purpose; peak torque, peak torque % body weight, average power, and average power % body weight of knee and ankle joints were measured using Biodex, an isokinetics exercise equipment, targeting 10 male competition players and 10 male poomsae players in college Taekwondo. The angular velocity of knee joints was measured 5 times at 60˚/sec and 180˚/sec while ankle joints were measured 5 times at 30˚/sec and 120˚/sec. For statistical analysis; descriptive statistics, and t-test were analyzed using the SPSS statistics program. First, there was no significant difference between the right and left extension and flexion of the knee joints` peak torque while the right extension and the left flexion of peak torque % body weight showed the competition players revealed significantly higher results(p<.05). Second, the peak torque and peak torque % body weight of knee joint decreased significantly as increases angular velocity(p<.01). Third, the ipsilateral balance ratio of knee joints was no significant difference on the right side while the competition players revealed significantly higher results on the left side(p<.05). Fourth, the peak torque and the peak torque % body weight of ankle joints was no significant difference in the right and left plantarflexor and dorsiflexor. Fifth, the peak torque and peak torque % body weight of ankle joint decreased significantly as increases angular velocity(p<.01). Sixth, the ipsilateral balance ratio of ankle joints was no significant difference between the right and left.
