This study has been performed to research effects of horse riding exercise program on the psychological emotion in children with developmental disabilities. The participants were 10 children with developmental disabilities at child care center in S city. They were allocated either an horse riding exercise group(n=10), which included 14 sessions(1 session per week) of group horse riding exercise and child care center treatment and control group(n=5), which included only child care center treatment. All participants were assessed at baseline and 4 month. To verify effects of the program on psychological emotion; the scores have been analyzed which two groups have gotten through pre and post repeated measurement by mixed ANOVA. The scores of psychological emotion were evaluated by mixed ANOVA to verity the effect of group horse riding exercise in two groups. Adjustment of emotion of horse riding exercise program group was significantly enhanced after 14 sessions of horse riding exercise compare to the control group. There was no significant difference of appraisal and expression of emotion, and recognizing emotions in others after 14 sessions between two groups. These finding demonstrate that group horse riding exercise has benefit on the enhance of adjustment of emotion, may improve emotional intelligence in infants with developmental disabilities. Horse riding exercise program could be an additional treatment program for improving psychological emotion in children with developmental disabilities.
