The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of tap ing to knee joint on performance and lower extremities in plyometric vertical jump. Six infrared cameras and a force platform were used to analyze the performance for 10 male college students. The participants were subjected to jump repeatedly on the force platform with and without taping applied to both knee joints. A lthough there was no significant difference in variables such as peak vertical reaction force, range of vertical center of mass (CoM), peak vertical of CoM, peak vertical velocity of CoM, range of motion (RoM) of 3D moti on of hip, and knee and ankle joint between the two conditions, most variables obtained from the condition with taping tended to be increased, except RoM of ab/adduction of hip joint. The proximal-to-distal sequence was appeared in the lower extremities with both conditions, however only the angular velocity of knee joint was increased relatively with taping, when compared to the angular velocity of knee and hip joints. Therefore, this research implied the potential application of taping to the body to improve the performance such as jumping task.
