Ethics is the study of the ethical action in human being. Action-oriented ethics focus on doing the right action or making the right decision when confronted by a moral dilemma. In contrast, virtue ethics holds that morality is more than simply doing the right thing; it concerns the moral agent, not the act that the agent performs. Although virtue ethics provides the foundation for much of the current understanding of ethical action, it is important to remember that action-oriented ethics provides the right answers to many fundamental questions. I would like to integrate the insight of action-oriented ethics in relation to virtue ethics. I will try to offer a closer relation between physics and ethics. Aristotle believed in absolute space. This absolute space can be more closely linked to absolute ethical norms. However, Newton discovered that there was no unique standard of rest. It meant that one could not determine whether two events that took place at different times occurred in the same position in space. Newton`s laws of motion put and end to the idea of an absolute position in space. Therefore, absolute ethical values can be relativized by Newton`s law of motion. The special theory of relativity gets rid of absolute time. However, space and time were thought of as a arena in which events took place, but which was not affected by what happened in it. In the general theory of relativity, Einstein made the revolutionary suggestion that gravity is not a force like other forces, but rather is a consequence of the fact that space-time is not flat. He stated, instead, that it is curved, or warped by the distribution of mass and energy in it. Space-time was therefore thought as dynamic quantities; when a body moves, or a force acts, it affects the curvature of space-time, and in turn the structure of space-time affects the way in which bodies move and forces act. Space-time not only affects but also is acted upon by everything that happens in the universe. similarly, ethical action also affects curvature of space-time and at the same time the structure of space-time affects ethical action. Just as it is curved by the distribution of mass and energy, space-time is warped by character and virtue of moral agent. Conversely character and virtue of moral agent also affect space-time. I think that space-time should be regarded as a major variable in ethics.
