Yudafu"s 「沈淪 Sinking」had an immediate impact on the contemporary readers, because of its daring self - exposure, a pure confession and originality, etc, which could not be found in other works of his contemporaries. It is unabasedly autobiographical, and it is filled with all kinds of incidents that Yudafu had met, or all sorts of experiences and feelings that he had had while he was in Japan. Some says that Yudafu was charmed by 「The hypochondria of garden “田園の憂鬱” 」 by Japanese writer Sato Haruo and "I-novel" prevailing at that time in Japan, and his deep concern about them helped Yudafu write 「沈淪 Sinking」. He declared that all literature is autobiographical, and he took to making literature that reflected and imitated everything about himself, including the writer"s own experience, behaviors and feelings. 「沈淪 Sinking」is considered as the first and representative novel that embodied and practiced his literary insistence and creed. In Short, Yudafu wrote「沈淪 Sinking」 through making an exact copy of his real experience and feelings, and imitating the figure of a hero in 「The hypochondria of garden “田園の憂鬱”」 by Japanese writer Sato Haruo. On 「沈淪 Sinking」 was imprinted two kinds of imitation, which reproduced his real experience and feelings, and the figure of a hero in 「The hypochondria of garden “田園の憂鬱”」. So, Yudafu"s 「沈淪 Sinking」is regarded as imitation novel in this paper. What he did imitate from his real life lived during his stay in Japan, and from the figure of a hero in 「The hypochondria of garden “田園の憂鬱”」, is discussed in this paper. To study on the imitative aspects and its literary implication seen in Yudafu"s 「沈淪 Sinking」, being focused on the comparison with Japanese writer Sato Haruo"s 「 Hypochondria of Garden 」, is the main purpose of this paper. Literature, or lierary works, in fact, is the product of language itself, because all kinds of things in literature, including the characters, are expressed and described only with language and words by writers. In order to define the imitative aspects found in 「沈淪 Sinking」 clearly and accurately, this paper uses the theory of the structure of language - signifiant and signifie, proposed by Saussure Ferdinan De, Swiss linguist, who insisted that language is composed of signifiant and signifier, introducing new theory on the structure of language to world. It comes to a conclusion, in this paper, that the first imitative aspects seen in a hero of 「沈淪 Sinking」- maladjustment to his social environment and wandering for sexual desire, drawn from the writer Yudafu"s real experience, behaviors and feelings can be regarded as "signifiant", and the second imitative aspects - a figure suffering from hypochodria and his indulgence and addiction, described after a figure of a hero in 「The hypochondria of garden “田園の憂鬱”」, may be thought of as signifier, since maladjustment to his social environment joins hypochondria (mental depression) and wandering for sexual desire is connected to indulgence and addiction to sex.
