Report Errors
While a performance hall exclusively for Korean traditional classical music has been built and managed on a regional basis in South Korea, definite criteria for acoustic performance of the halls appropriate for the South Korean situations have not been set yet. So there are lots of difficulties in designing and building the halls; in particular, great consideration is given to how much acoustic performance must be secured for each hall in the stage of remodeling. In addition, the current halls have more difficulties because they hold modern performances as well as Korean traditional classical music performances. To secure acoustic performance of the Korean traditional classical music performance halls appropriate for the South Korean situations, therefore, it is necessary to analyze performance types in the current halls and determine the performance type to focus on. From this point of view, this study analyzed the performance types in six Korean traditional classical music performance halls over the recent three years. The results of this study are expected to be important in setting the criteria for acoustic performance of Korean traditional classical music performance halls.
