This paper is about the division of UN PKO’s which started in 1948 and has been operating 68 missions so far all over the world into the four stages; the initial stage, the prosperous age, the challenging times, and the reformation age by the multi-factors including each missions’s mandates, participants, the UN organizations such as SC and Secretariat, and the environmental changes of international conflicts. And the study focused on what the main causes of the transitions were and what the pros and cons of the UN PKOs upon the international conflicts were through reviewing and feedback process of continuous interactions by the period and the echelon of tactical, operational and strategical levels.
Through the analyses mentioned above, some critical issues which are the problems with communications and the intelligence sharing among the leading participants, the necessity of integrated approaches have emerged while there are some positive aspects of the UN PKOs, for example, they have been contributed to resolve the international conflicts with low cost.
In conclusion, this analytic approaches of UN PKOs provide those of R.O.K with some valuable implications such as designing a strategy to enhance the national interests, establishing a control tower to integrate 3D, deploying the combat forces rapidly which is the crucial for the success of Peace Keeping Activities at modern times.
