Report Errors
Collaboration among the researchers has increased across various academic fields, and numerous studies have explored how researchers conduct collaborative works. However, in the context of Korean trade research, this phenomenon remains unexplored even though such a study may provide useful information about collaboration patterns, networks, behavior, and, importantly, their impact on the growth of trade research. This study uses co-authorship as an indicator of research collaboration, and is based on the database of academic papers published in the Journal of the Korea Trade Research Association in the last four decades(1975–2015). Descriptive statistics show the growth in co-authorship levels by decade. Social Network Analysis (SNA) is then used to map out collaborations in trade research, and highlight the structure, and decadal change of these collaborative networks. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to explore how trade researchers have collaborated over time.
