만 49세 한국인 남성에서 일반적인 마름근과 달리 전체적으로 위쪽 척추뼈에서 일어나는 마름근의 변이를 발견하여 보고한다. 마름근의 형태는 평행 사변형이 아닌 사다리꼴로, 셋째마름근이 큰마름근 아래에 덧붙어 있었다. 작은마름근은 넷째에서 여섯째 목뼈의 가시돌기 높이 목덜미인대에서 힘줄로 일어났다. 큰마름근 이는곳의 위쪽 경계는 왼쪽은 다섯째와 여섯째 목뼈 가시돌기 사이의 목덜미인대, 오른쪽은 여섯째 목뼈 가시돌기 높이의 목덜미인대였고, 이는곳의 아래쪽 경계는 왼쪽은 넷째 등뼈 가시돌기, 오른쪽은 둘째 등뼈 가시돌기였다. 셋째마름근 이는곳의 위쪽경계는 왼쪽은 넷째 등뼈 가시돌기, 오른쪽은 둘째 등뼈 가시돌기였으며, 이는곳의 아래쪽경계는 양쪽 모두 다섯째 등뼈 가시돌기였다. 전체 마름근은 9개 척추뼈에 걸쳐 일어났다. 이 마름근의 형태를 기존에 보고된 변이와 비교하고 발생학적, 임상적 의미를 고찰하였다.
