The purpose of this study was analyzed the actual condition and amelioration of smoke??control system for special escape stair. In comparison with prescriptive code based design of Korea and overseas, other??countries’ standard of prescriptive code based design is constituted to examine dangerousness of design through??various approaches in accordance with selection of designer by the offer of categorized design standard and??adopting the performance based design. The survey is based on 50 professional advices and the responses indicate??that the technology and level of regulation of Korean smoke control and exhaust system is 40～60% to compare with??advanced nations. In addition to 64% of respondents polled that the current standard has to be improved for safety??evacuation.
