The use of video technology in German language classes is a necessary complement to other teaching parts such as reading, speaking, listening comprehension and oral expression. Video can convey very simply, because it contents all the important factors of non-verbal communication, gestures, facial expressions, backgrounds.
The use of video-chat can help students to find interlocutors in the target language, because in Korea there are not so many native German speaking persons. The partners in internet can both be German-speaking individuals who are in Germany or elsewhere, but also students of German language in other countries or neighboring countries that have the same learning experiences. In the case of Korea, it has been shown in several video chat projects with Japan and China that interest and motivation of the learners of German were thereby greatly increased.
