This study aims at listing Korean medical books in Chosun dynasty (Medival Korean era) and surveying the characteristics of their writing style. These medical books have something in common : linguistic code - Korean, era - Chosun, contents - symptom and prescription of diseases, text producers - doctors, experts and authorities, comsumers - secondary experts, patients and laymen. The main factor for formation of writing style in the medical books was investigated in the view of the intrinsic and the extrinsic text. The factors by the intrinsic text were the symptom of diseases, the medical prescriptions and the status of treatment and that by the the extrinsic text was psychological status of health care providers. The characteristics of the writing style in the medical books was analyzed in the length of sentences and the sentence final forms.
