The structures of nouns and verbs have been discussed a lot from the standpoint of morphology. Beyond this point of view, however, when we look into the inside of these words from a different angle of the semantic structure we can see the new semantic feature components. A lot of English words in the noun category can be transformed into the words in the verb category without affixation. When the category is changed, we can analyze the semantic structure of the word in the verb category and figure out the semantic structure of the word in the noun category by observing the directionality that the converted verb from a noun shows. As a result, the path element is observed in the meaning structure of the English verb and on the basis of this we can construct the complex meaning structure of an English noun including this path element, which presents the meaning directionality in the sentence when it is converted into a verb. This analysis can be done better by comparing the same things in Korean because of the distinct differences in the semantic structure of a word between English and Korean.
