The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends in of preferences of elderly housing focused on an journal papers since 2001. In Korea, 71 papers related to preferences of elderly housing were published from 2001 to 2010. Most of them were conducted by questioning survey of the middle-aged in the Seoul region or areas near Seoul and more focused on Elderly housing for active seniors more than elderly care facilities. The future direction of research on elderly housing were follows. 1) Elderly people of every condition should be performed such as their life style and life pattern. 2) Both quantitative and qualitative research is required to analysis their demands for housing. 3) In order to provide guideline of housing selection for old ages, it has to be discussed by expert group in development and management of elderly housing facilities, welfare for the aged and policy on the housing for senior. 4) More research is needed to identify effective providing process of information about elderly housing.
