In this study, we focused on identifying the awareness of female professional golfers participating in Pro-Am when they experience Pro-Am which is held before the golf tour by conducting in-depth interviews with golfers of the Korea Ladies Professional Association(KLPGA). To achieve the goals of this study, we conducted in-depth interviews with 10 female professional golfers with over five years of experience in their careers who have participated in Pro-Am at home and abroad more than 50 times. Golf Pro-Am is an event which is held the day before the golf tour is held and amateur golfers and that professional golfers play the game in a team. Pro-Am of the Korea Ladies Professional Association (KLPGA) started 4 events in 1990 and grew to 19 events in 2014 and the number of golf tours and Pro-Am has steadily increased. However, there are not enough studies on Pro-Am currently. In this study, we studied the awareness of female professional golfers participating Pro-Am. The research result indicated that female professional golfers have two different parts of awareness which are positive awareness and negative awareness on participating Pro-Am. It showed that positive awareness is the pride in participating Pro-Am and diverse opportunities of personal connections while negative awareness is physical burdens and ignorance about amateur golfers(VIP). In this study, there were limits on identifying what the experiences and awareness of female golfers on Pro-Am are even though we conducted in-depth interviews with female golfers. Therefore, we need to analyze the internally psychological factors and externally psychological factors in future studies.
