This paper investigates on the issues of the seamless roaming for the maritime cloud which is known as a e-navigation communication infrastructure. The seamless roaming can be provided not only when a maritime cloud user moves but also available communication system is changed which means roaming between different maritime digital communication systems. The later shall be provided with existing maritime communication equipment for backward compatibility. For the seamless roaming, we propose an addressing scheme and architecture to represent legacy communication equipment and systems. Finally, we extend the maritime cloud message system and illustrate the inter-operability with it. The proposed scheme accommodates existing maritime communication systems in the maritime cloud without any additional changes.
