The purpose of this study was to develop an ego-resiliency enhancement program appropriate for the higher elementary students; and to test its effects on ego-resiliency, school adjustment, and subjective well-being. The program development was based on the conceptual reflections about resilience and self-resiliency. The program consisted of ten 60-minutes` sessions. The experimental group was composed of 32 students of the 5th or 6th grades. Sixty students of comparison group were randomly sampled from the same school as the experimental group. No treatment was imposed on the comparison group. Three time measurements of pre, post, and delay were performed. Pre-test displayed the equality of the two groups. Results of the post-test showed that the program was effective for the enhancement of ego-resiliency, school adjustment, and subjective well-being. From the delay-test, program effectiveness was partially supported. It was discussed that the new conceptual structure and the collaborative system of individual-home-school-society-culture were needed for the advanced understanding and enhancement of ego-resiliency.
