The diversity of drapery acquires the various natural wrinkles according to methods, and it plays a role in expressing the physical beauty more beautiful. This causes the creation of big added value and economic demand in the part of fashion. In this study, it contrasts the work-oriented feature of Madeleine Vionnet and Charles James, fashion designers. The result for formativeness of drapery in modern fashion is as follows: First, the drapery costume has rhythmic property. The rhythmic property is the shape of curve or waving line made by drapery, and it provides the rhythmic property and directivity. The utilization of material with the liquidity plays a basic role in making rhythmic property, and color is magnified visually in accordance with the reflection of light, so the rhythmic property was remarkable. Second, the drapery costume has sensuality. It has the sensuality to show and highlight the sex appeal in osculation with human body and clothes by bias-cutting and features of thin material. Hence it became the way to express the beauty. Third, the drapery costume has elegance property. The curved-linear silhouette that runs along the human body flexibly, wavy chiffon material with swinging flexibility, swaying in overlapped several layers, and uni-color outfitting, flowing the wrinkle of drapery naturally in light led the feminine expression of elegance property. Like this, the drapery costume has various aesthetic, formative features through expressive elements such as various shape, material, and color, etc., and it is being re-interpreted and re-created in a new perspective.
