The purpose of this research is to aid the instruction on physical activity in childhood and to emphasize the importance of that. This research covered 524 infants including 314 boys and 210 girls aged from 4 to 6 who are participating in the kindergartens or infant program in Daegu. The ages of them are divided from age of 4.0 to age of 6.5 by the unit of 0.5 year(6 month) on the basis of Oct. 1991. This research measured the physical features, motor skill and social growths of subjects and took the statistics the results. To put concretely, I measured the physical features (height, sitting height, weight and chest circumferenc) and examined the general trend of them. In terms of the motor skills, the basic motor skills (20m race, throw, jumping), balance and flexibility are checked. To investigate social growths, we distributed the T. K, way inspection papers produced by the DANA-KA Education Institute in Japan to the parents of subjects and drew back them. The results of research, which this research intended to derive, are arranged as followings. 1) The physique of the infant showed the growth trend near to the straight line following the increase of age. The male infant is superior to the female and the infant aged from 4.5 to 5.5 turned out to grow faster than the infant in the other age-group. 2) The motor skill of the infant showed the growth trend near to the straight line following the increase of age. The male infant is superior in the basic exercise and the female is superior in the exercise like the balance and flexibility. And the male infant, though there is some difference of period, mostly grows notably in the period from 5.0 age to 6.0 age and this period is important. 3) While the development patterns of motor skill and sociality tend to go abreast each other, that of physique doesn`t. therefore, this imposes that motor skill and the development of sociality are realted rather than physique. 4) It is proved that infant motor skill and sociality are related. It is also proved that basic motor skill have the middle level (0.35) relevancy with society and especially have higher relevancy with the ability for social life among sociality.
