The purpose of the present research is to investigate the effects of Physical activity levels on serum levels of neurotrophins and neurocognitive function. The subjects of the research were 60 healthy male adolescents. The subjects underwent three experiments according to physical activity level: one experiment in the Elit Athletes (EA, N=20) condition, Physical exercise (PS, N=20) condition, and the other in the Control Group (CG, N=20) condition. Blood samples were collected analyses of serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). For the measurements of neurocognitive functions, the Stroop Color-Word test and Physical activity-related energy expenditure, Caloric intake of Lifestyle habit. The results of the research showed that the serum levels of the BDNF, IGF-1 and Stroop Color-Word test were significantly differences a between groups(p<0.05), and BDNF of Post-hoc for significantly higher in PS than CG (p<0.05), IGF-1 of Post-hoc for significantly higher in PS, EA than CG (p<0.001). Color-Word score of Post-hoc for significantly higher in EA than CG, PE (p<0.001). In the VO2max, PAEE and Caloric intake of Lifestyle habit significantly differences scores were observed a between groups(p<0.001, p<0.001, p<0.05). With respect to the serum levels of the neurotrophic factor (BDNF, IGF-1) and neurocognitive functions(Stroop Color-Word test) a positive correlation between physical activity level. In addition, these results suggest that long-term regular physical activity has positive effects on neurocognitive functions and neurotrophins factor.
