This study aims to find out the relative impact of the meaning of life on the church commitment by analyzing the survey of 181 district leaders in Gyeongbuk.
The findings of this study are as follows:
First, among the district leaders, those who have higher perception on the meaning of life shows higher perception on church commitment, and those who have higher emotional church commitment shows higher physical church commitment
Second, in terms of the variables regarding district leader"s meaning of the life which have statistically significant impact on the emotional church commitment, “I seek the goal or the calling of my life.”, “I know what makes my life meaningful well.”, and “I have found the satisfactory goal of life.” shows the highest relative predictability in order (R2=.299).
Third, in terms of the variables regarding district leader"s meaning of the life which have statistically significant impact on the physical church commitment, “I have found the satisfactory goal of life.” and “I know what makes my life meaningful well.” shows the highest relative predictability in order (R2=.128).
Thus, the study suggests the following implications on the church social welfare practice:
First, the church should primarily seek the practical church social welfare policy to facilitate the meaning of the life of district leaders, which enforces the church commitment of district leaders.
Second, the pastoral policy should reflect the fact that the perception of emotional and physical church commitment rises as proportional to district leader’s perception of finding and seeking the meaning of life gets higher.
Third, the church and the church social welfare practitioners‘ practical effort for the existential anxiety of middle-age female district leader is needed.
