특허의 기대수명은 기술이전료, 로열티 산정과 같은 특허가치 평가 프로세스에서 필수적인 추정요소중의 하나이며, 특허의 가치결정에 중요한 역할을 한다. 그러나 지금까지 특허수명은 계량화된 모형을 통해 추정되기 보다는 전문가의 평가나 관행적인 규칙에 따라 추정되었다. 이에, 본 연구는 대량의 미국특허로부터 추출된 정보와 특허 유지비용의 납부에 관한 데이터와 딥뉴럴네트워크 알고리즘을 이용하여 계량화된 특허수명 예측모형을 제시한다.
