The earth has growing environmental problem from global warning to biodiversity loss. It is proved that Cities have much impact on ecological environment through various statistical data. Therefore cities have duty to play an important role to mitigate environmental load.
Rencently, to be green cities is major goals of many cities that are confronted with obligation to lower carbon. Daejeon also is trying to be a carbon neutral city and to promote life quality through green cities. This study aims to plan strategies for green cities in Daejeon.
First, we examine Daejeon in the view of compact land use, public transit, green space, renewable energy, and building the neighborhoods. Second, we suggested strategies toward green cities in Daejeon according to her strengths and weaknesses.
