A circular shear panel damper is a new steel damper that dissipates seismic energy through metallic deformation of circular shear panel. The use of energy dissipative devices installed within a structure large portion of the input energy supplied by wind and/or earthquake can be dissipated whereby damages to the major structural components could be effectively reduced. In this study the development and behavior of CSPD considering different variables were presented. It is found that CSPD has high damping capacity compared to other steel damper such as shear panel damper (SPD).
