In this paper, we present the development of a fuzzy system for constant speed control of sensorless BLDC motors which can be used in small-sized electric fans. The system consists of several components including MCU (Micro Controller Unit), AD converter, SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply), inverter, and communication port. In this work, we use a three-phase six-step inverter. We adopted a fuzzy logic approach for constant speed control of the fan motors, and employed the closed loop control using the feedback of the back EMF (electromotive force) which is calculated by measuring the current and using PWM signals in the fan motors. We have implemented the fuzzy system, and expect to conduct experiments to verify its performance and quality.
