This study aims to investigate age young children’s first experience of private education of individual, family and community factors by analyzing the time when children start private educations from 0 to 4. The 1st-5th wave data of Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) were used for survival analysis. First, on average, infants started private education at 38 months after birth. The rate of starting private education increased from birth, reaching the peak at the age of 3 and decreased afterwards. Second, results showed that gender, mother’s age and residential area influenced the onset of children experience with private education. Based on the research results, the implication of the longitudinal trend of children’s private education and policy suggestions are discussed.
