Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis of the laser-preheated micro-forging process was conducted to study the material deformation and residual stress. After adding a laser device to the conventional forging process, the quenching effect was founded. It was verified by tensile test. And FEM analysis was carried out based on the measured values. When the laser irradiated the metal surface at 550 °C, it was confirmed by thermal analysis that the forged position was cooled to 250 °C. After that, the impact applied to the specimen through the forging process was analyzed by FEM. The residual stress was calculated to be 205 MPa higher than that of the room-temperature specimen, and the deformation was 0.13 mm/mm less. The residual stress, measured by the Vickers method, was calculated and compared with the analysis. It was confirmed the residual stress was 227 MPa higher than the room-temperature sample, confirming the analysis results.
