The ever-changing environment has had a profound impact on the hotel operations in Korea. Especially the changes in the business environment have forced hotels to maximize the revenue and to minimize the cost. This study aims at making a comparison between resort hotels and city hotels in the Chungbuk area through financial analysis. The results of this study are as follows : First, the resort hotels and the city hotels recorded decrease in their financial growth, thus reducing the profitability. Secondly, the resort hotels recorded more productivity than the city hotels. Thirdly, the resort hotels and the city hotels recorded a low ratio in the liabilities & stockholders` equity turnover. Fourthly, the resort hotels recorded high labor cost & interest and the city hotels recorded high material cost & operating expense & depreciation. Finally, the resort hotels recorded high debt ratio, investments & other assets and fixed assets to stockholders` equity, and total borrowings to liabilities & stockholders` equity, while recorded low stockholders` equity to total assets. And the city hotels recorded low time interest earned.
