The purpose of this study is to objectively identify characteristics and role of environmental color in urban regeneration to the representative streets of Korea, Japan, and North America that have actively promoted urban regeneration projects, and to understand the environmental characteristics of cities. The method is to explore the relevant study and literature, 2.Discriminant environmental color schemes and characteristics of urban regeneration zones, and explore the relevant cases of urban regeneration and urban regeneration. The results of the study are as follows. Conservation and improvement of environmental colors is a key challenge in urban regeneration, and the establishment of a sustainable color plan, taking into account the historicity and landscape characteristics of each area, is crucial. And it was clearly confirmed that the composition of environmental colors is different depending on the unique architectural culture, style, and material characteristics of the areas in which the urban landscape image was constructed. This study is significant in that it has derived characteristics of environmental color application method through analysis of environmental color characteristics in major urban regeneration in North America and has suggested implications for domestic urban regeneration projects.
