This study examined the situation of self-sufficiency community enterprises based on the ideal type of work integration social enterprises and presented the tasks. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the self-sufficiency community enterprises has limited characters as work integration social enterprises. This study found that the mechanism of ‘individualization of poverty issue’ and ‘marketization of social enterprises’ mediated by ‘intervention of the state’ is the reasons why self-sufficiency community enterprises have limited characteristics as work integration social enterprises. Based on this analysis, the study emphasized that self-sufficiency community enterprises should further strengthen their social goals and social ownership, and suggested ways to do so.
