The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of application of leisure concept to existential phenomenology. The author wanted to inquire into meanings of leisure from the aspect of existential phenomenology. The author found that Ponty`s body-subject conceit offers implications to leisure concept in terms of the following three paints. They are as follows : 1. The phenomenological concept of the Panty`s body-subject needs to be understood as an embodied consciousness or subjective and qualitative viewpoint in leisure concept. For Merleau-Ponty, the body-subject means an active subject which indicates the world establishing a meaningful relationship with it. 2. Leisure experience by oneself should be regarded as an important factor than effects from activates in itself. It suggests that "unity` of beady and mind.", "self absorption and overcame", and "peak experience" be obtained from leisure experiences. 3. The process of leisure activities can be considered as flow experience of movement and activity which hopefully will enhance this "at homeness" with the environment rather than being alienated from it. This "at homeness" comes from a preconscious, prereflective, and intimate knowledge of our body themselves. In conclusion, the author proposes that the existential phenomenology in leisure be perceived by themselves as embodied consciousness.
