Despite a substantial amount of leisure and sport research, little is known about the different effect of spectator sport and participant sport on consumers` leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction. The primary purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between leisure activity patterns (spectator sport vs. participant sport) and perceived leisure satisfaction and to identify the impact of leisure satisfaction on life satisfaction among sport consumers. Data were collected from spectators in professional baseball games, participants in public sport centers, and non-consumers of sport activities using convenience sampling method(n=635). To analyze the data, SPSS 10.0 was used for factor analysis, correlation, one-way ANOVA, Post-hoc comparison test, and regression. A factor analysis revealed five factors that formed the subscales for leisure satisfaction construct: psychological, physical, enviornmental, educational, and social satisfaction. All scales had coefficient alpha values of .70 or above. Different effects of spectator sport and participant sport on sport consumers` leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction were demonstrated.
