The purpose of this study is to identify the differences of the role expectation of liberal physical activity courses leaders and enjoyment sources according to types of physical activity courses and to elucidate the relationship between physical activity courses leaders’ role expectation and participants’enjoyment sources. Data were collected from 366 university students participating in liberal sport activity courses. The descriptive statistical analysis, the factor analysis, the reliability analysis, and the correlation analysis were conducted using the SPSS 19 and AMOS 19 statistical programs. For the hypothesis test, independent sample t-test and multiple regression analysis were carried out and the results of the study are as follows: First, the role expectation according to participation type did not show any statistical differences in all sub-variables. Second, there were statistically significant differences in all sub-variables of enjoyment sources depending on participation type. In particular, participants in the group sports showed higher scores of enjoyment sources than did participants in the individual sports. Third, the role expectation of the liberal physical activity courses leader significantly influences the enjoyment sources of the liberal physical activity courses participants.
