This study aims to analyze environment-friendly design elements in ideal housing drawings by college students in Korea. The data were collected at two universities during two semesters in 2017. Of 160 students who were taking a liberal arts class, 156 students submitted drawings. Frequency, t-test, ANOVA, chi-square and content analysis were conducted. The results of the study were as follows. Organic ecological environments were applied commonly in the drawings(59.0%), followed by comfortable indoor environments(51.3%). The wishful environment-friendly divisions and elements had significant differences, mainly by gender, housing types, or housing experiences. Female students were more interested in proximity of facilities and public transportation(p<.05), and male students were more interested in renewable energy and protecting environmental pollution(p<.05). Students living in or that have lived in detached housing or multi-family housing focused more on housing with a good view(p<.05, p<.01), and those living in apartments or row housing preferred proximity of facilities(p<.01). Those living in or those that have lived in a dormitory preferred good indoor air quality and protecting environmental pollution(p<.05). The results showed that a counter plan is required to make people more aware of the energy crisis being in accord with the direction of the national green building policy.
