It has been one and one-half years after The Moon Jae-in Government started. The Moon Jae-in Government presented people-oriented economic policy, because export-oriented economy led by big corporations and debt based growth had made no longer trickle-down effects and sustainable growth, improvement of quality of people’s life. The main contents of The Moon Jae-in government’s economic policies are minimum wage increase, shorter working hours, welfare budget expansion, stabilization of real property prices, job creation, improvement of income distribution, expansion of household income and consumption.
This paper simply looks the structural problems of Korean economy and why The Moon Jae-in Government promotes people-oriented economic policy in chapter 2 explores what caused the low performance of The Moon Jae-in Government economic policy during the last one and one-half years against all expectations and evaluate on the accomplishments and problems of The Moon Jae-in Government economic policy in chapter 3, and finally presents that it may be needed to construct the inclusive welfare state through expansionary fiscal policy, welfare budget expansion, stabilization of real property prices, expansion of public rental housing, strengthening fair economy for The Moon Jae-in Government to succeed to achieve people-oriented economic policy in chapter 4.
