This article examines and identifies the becominganimal motif and sympathetic, transcendental interaction and communication in works of D. H. Lawrence centering on with some novels. There are a lot of scenes in Lawrence’s such novels where a primitive magical self and mysterious, transcendental consciousness appear in the interaction and communication between characters and animals as spontaneous nature which leads into bloodbeing or flesh-consciousness. Such kinds of being self, and consciousness, according to Lawrence, belong to a great half of darkness. Modern European civilization has lost and forgotten those aspects in the human beings, which results from over-oriented mental, intellectual consciousness that causes the destruction of the fundamental self from human beings. So modern people must restore the animality or otherness of the great half which is a primitive, and fundamental nature.
