The objective of this study is to investigate the perception of using Educational Broadcasting System English (hereafter, EBSe) in English education, focusing on private education expense for English. We analyzed the statistical survey results which were implemented on 43,000 elementary, middle and high school parents, homeroom teachers, and after-school teachers from all over the country by the Ministry of Education and the National Statistical Office in 2016. The Ministry of Education announced the survey results on March 14, 2017, “Private education costs for private education are falling sharply and private English education costs have decreased the most significantly”. The results were quite different from the results of the survey on private education expenses that had been conducted until 2016. When analyzing the responses of 2,793 students, parents, teachers and the public in a survey conducted by this study, EBSe showed positive expectations about reducing private education costs. It is very important that the "decrease in status as an English for college entrance" is "turn to communication-oriented English education." To this end, EBSe should prepare a system to realize systematic communication-oriented English education.
