The benefits of a blog are ‘quick information update and expertise’, ‘convenience such as RSS publishing’, and above all ‘interactive communication’. This equips a blog with the power to not only to serve a personal space, but to serve as ‘mass media’ and a space to persuade the public and have brand value to do so. However, the fact that the web has a very low entrance barrier which entails strong conformity, a blog must commit to a differentiation strategy in its early stages and among its necessities, ‘color image’ stands out the most. Hence, it is important to understand its current situation through research and ultimately provide the direction for improvement. In terms of research method, an analysis of 155 power blogs of the top portal web site were made along with a color observation research in 5 categories. As a result, because the portals were created based on selective templates, colors unrelated to the blog themes or topics were being used. Categorization, which improves the search effectiveness of portal websites, is done for the ease of use of the typical user. However, the current color images of blogs were ambiguous in terms of classification until the user views the content and the blogs’ brand identity was ambiguous as well. I hope in the future, color palettes that are related to either the brand or the actual detailed content are developed so that this becomes the foundation for bloggers and portal websites to use, reinvent the personal media ecosystem, and express one’s identity in a more precise manner within the virtual space.
