Human-robot collaboration (HRC) systems become one of potential solution towards flexible automation in the context of Industry 4.0. Implementation of human-robot collaboration system requires various decision-making processes at different stages in development of HRC system from design to implementation. Decisions on types of collaborative robot and configuration of the humanrobot collaboration system and workplace design. The number of agents (human and robot) and types of the supporting and transporting equipment need to decided based on different application. Furthermore, the interaction between human and robot in the collaborative system need to be made at the design stage of HRC implementation. Effectiveness of these decisions highly affect the operational performance of the HRC systems. Once a physical configuration is setup, task selection and task distribution between all the agents in the HRC work-cell require ergonomic analysis and task breakdown analysis in order to decide on the task execution, i.e. which agent performs what task and when to perform. During the collaborative operation, decision on speed and force adjustment and role change (task re-distribution) are crucial in order to ensure smooth collaborative operations between human and robots. In this paper, we aim to provide an overview of types of decision, when, what and where these decisions are required in a human-robot collaboration system at preimplementation (design and planning), onimplementation and post-implementation (evaluation and improvement) stage.
