This study surveyed elementary school student"s awareness on health and aimed to identify the effect of a health coaching program through cooking activities on self-efficacy and health promoting behavior. To survey elementary school students" awareness on health, checked health awareness, self-efficacy and health promoting behavior among 226, 5th and 6th graders of elementary school. Of 24 students who wanted to participate in this program, the study allocated 12 each to the test group and control group. The study had conclusions as follows. First, as a result of identifying the difference in health awareness, self-efficacy, health promoting behavior from general traits of high graders of elementary school, 5th graders had more interest in health awareness than 6th graders. Second, the test group had their post-test self-efficacy scores improved. Third, as a result of investigating whether a health coaching program through cooking activities might be effective for improvement of health promoting behavior of elementary school students, the test group had their post-test health promoting behavior scores improved. Therefore, this study believes that, based on the outcomes of this research, there needs to be further research on health coaching programs so that students themselves can set and practice their health targets and achieve their health goals.
