Lee, Sanghyock. “Understanding and Reinterpretation of English Texts based on the Countability of English Nouns(with a focus on verses in the Bible).” Studies in English Language & Literature. 37.2 (2011): 275-89. One of the key linguistic features of English nouns is countability. The countability status of English nouns varies according to a given situational context. In this study, a Korean-English explanation bible was chosen to illustrate how certain English nouns are interpreted and translated under particular contexts and situations. We can notice that, in several cases, there is room for some more in-depth explanation and discussion. It is always a good idea to read both the Korean and the English versions of the Bible. In doing so, readers of the Bible will have a better grasp of the meanings of the Bible verses and will come to know more about the biblical truth. (Keimyung University)
