본고는 신당(新堂) 정붕(鄭鵬: 1467~1512)의 시에 나타난 그의 지향의식을 고찰하는 것을 목표로 하였다.
신당의 시 7수 가운데 1수를 제외하면 모두 7언(言) 시이다. 신당이 정형시(定型詩)만을 지었다고는 할 수 없겠으나, 현전하는 시는 정형시인 근체시(近體詩)뿐이다. 이를 두고 보면, 첫째 청렴(淸廉)ㆍ강직(剛直)한 성격을 바탕으로 원칙(原則)을 가장 중시하였다는 것을 알 수 있다. 그가 청송부사를 재임할 때의 일화(逸話)에서 잘 알 수 있다. 둘째 평소 그는 정신적으로 여유가 있었다. 이는 그가 남긴 시가 대부분 7언 시라는 것을 보면 알 수 있다.
그가 어려서는 스승인 한훤당 김굉필, 작은아버지인 정석견의 영향을 받았다. 그러나 그의 의식의 성장은 그가 성균관에서 공부할 때 만난 벗들과 교유하면서부터 라고 할 수 있다.
그의 시에 나타난 지향의식으로는 첫째 두 가지 좋아함과 세 가지 즐거움을 통한 정신적 풍요로움을 추구하였다는 점이다. 둘째 안식처인 고향을 통하여 마음의 자유와 평화를 추구하였다. 셋째 밝은 이미지를 통하여 긍정적인 세계를 지향하고 있다. 넷째 혼돈을 넘어 질서의 세계를 지향하고 있다. 다섯째 초인의 출현과 호걸(豪傑)한 선비를 지향하고 있다.
이상에서 알 수 있듯이 신당 정붕은 자아의식이 확실한 조선 전기의 선비였다. 그의 의식을 통하여 볼 때 다른 선비들의 모범이 된다. 현재까지 전하는 시가 비록 적을지라도 그의 시를 통하여 볼 때 그의 의식의 흐름은 조선 전기 선비들의 모범이 되고 있다. 이점이 신당(新堂) 정붕(鄭鵬)이 우리문학사상에 차지하는 위상(位相)이다.
This article is focused on discussing Shindangang Jeong, Bung´s oriented consciousness which is appeared in his poem. Every his poem is composed to 7 phrase, except one. Can’t say he only wrote orthopedic poem, but only the new style of Chinese poetry which is sort of orthopedic poem is introduced contemporarily. To look at this, first of all, he considered principle the most. Able to see that he kept principle not only in his poem but also in real life. There is one anecdote, can see when he worked as a government official of Chungsong prefecture. Through this, his personality was integrated and uprightned. He was very strict officially , the example like above. But generally he was generous.
Able to see that he was generous, through the poem which he remained. Among his 7 poems, 6 poems are composed in 7 phrase. Compare to 5phrased poem, 7 hrased poem has more break(breath). Which means more relaxed. Contemporary remained his poems, are mainly one or two quatrain in Chenese poetry with seven characters to a line. This means he kept principle very well.
He was influenced by his teacher kim, Goingpil uncle Jung, Suk-hyun. But growth of his conscious happened, after he started studying in Seungkyun-guan. Connected with colleague whom he met in that time. Muosahwa and Gapjasahwa - the purge of Confucian scholars in 1498 and 1504 - shocked him so much. fortunately he did not loose his life but his thought were changed a lot during experiencing two purge of Confucian scholars.
His oriented-conscious, firstly like two things and through enjoying three things, focused on nourishing sufficiency of mentality. Most of people pursued only material sufficiency, but Shindang pursued psychological sufficiency through Energetics crisis. This point was well appeared in poem, which he wrote to Shin, Yong-gae.
Secondly, pursued mind peace and freedom through shelter, home town. The three poems which he wrote during exiled, can see this point clearly. Thirdly, fond of positive world, through light image. The point is well shown in his poem 「The white cloud」. Forthly, cherishing ordered world, beyond the chaos. The poem crow is the example. Fifthly, fancy of extra-ordinary people´s emergency and heroic erudite. The poem zelcova, shows well those points.
Through out those mentioned 5 points, he was the erudite of Joseon era, who had certain self-consciousness. According to his consciousness, he is a good model of other erudite. Even though only few of his poems are remained, steam of his consciousness is role model of erudite from starting of Joseon era. This point is why Jeong, Bung´s fame charges in literary thought.
