The Sexuality of North Korean Women in ‘Songun’ Politics Period (1995-2006)The paper studies the sexuality of North Korean women in the time of ‘Songun’ politics. This study points out how women construct their identities, how women and men think about the world, militarism policy by the power of Pyongyang, and then in the sexualities form of women and men, what the deepest effect is. It is powerful militarism about the society and people as well as army that the power of Pyongyang has taken military policy. The time of study is the period from 1995 to 2006. In North Korea on ‘Songun’ politics the difference of sexualities, masculinity and femininity, are grounded in policy by military-power, rather than in alleged biological differences. In the military society the masculinity equals with army. So the sexualities of men are invariability, camaraderie, loyalty, daring, cruelty, merciless, and so on. And the power confines the role of women such as military mother; sending to troops one’s children, caring for military personnel and wounded ex-soldiers, looking after military home round about. Also the power requires to women more active participants and more devoted life about army, society and home, having the military spirit, military life and military fashion. In this process the power coerces women into the women sexualities hoping the military-power. Therefore the femininities are gratitude, serving, devotion, care, industry, thrifty, mercenary, and so on. The work is successfully progressed quite with a shortage of food and sending to troops one's children including daughter.
