Korean government is trying to make new policy for foreign nationals in Korea as the number of immigrants into Korea is increasing nowadays. A characteristic of Korea's changing policy is that the social integration for immigrants and Korean nationals is one of main issues following immigration management and residential management for foreigners.
The social integration for immigrants and Korean nationals means that the immigrants in Korea is recognized as new regular community component of this society, not those who are scheduled to leave Korea. So, both parties of Korean society need to respect each other and to make society harmonious.
This paper reviewed policy environment, law, regulation, institution and policy case related to the social integration policy. As the result of this study, I could find that this policy is very timely-proper policy in the changing time of policy environments. However, I also could find some trials and errors in the social integration policies and the limits of those governmental policies such as not making ultimate goals and visions of these policies.
