The purpose of this study is to investigate the semantic field of greek preposition ΣΕ (hereinafter referred to as ‘se’). It is no exaggeration to say that the Greek preposition ‘se’ is the most frequently used preposition in modern Greek. It overlaps with semantic domains such as in, at, and on, which are classified as spatial prepositions in English and, in some cases, have more various meanings. In response to the Korean language, the semantic area is generally covered by three particles ‘-ey’ ,‘-eysǒ’ and ‘-uro’ Because ‘se’ is used in various phrases used with other prepositions and definite articles and used with idioms, it takes a lot of time for the learner to properly recognize and use the meaning. Because of it’s polysemy ,it is difficult for Koreans to learn the various uses of ‘se’ rather than the form itself. In this paper, we will make a semantic map of Greek preposition ‘se’ after examining semantic references of ‘se’ in order to help learners to understand various semantic features of ‘se’.
