Most Middle Eastern countries are not regarded as democratic countries. Iran is one of them. Now, these countries are facing crucial changes, democriticization, as their people long for democracy. Recently, Iran also witnessed movement against current government. It has happened after the 2009 Presidential election. Since there existed many doubts on the result, Iranian people began to protest against the government asking their government to clarify the doubts. Even though the first demonstration was performed peacefully, the Iranian government suppressed the people with violence. Iranians continued to protest for a quite long time, and the world also expected Iran to be democriticized, but the result does not seem to be successful unlike Egypt. The paper tried to find the reason why the way to democracy in Iran is such a long way, by introducing Iran's unique political system. Furthermore, we also studied whether there is any possibility for Iran to accept the globalized political system, democracy.
