Among high school students going to college, most of the excellent students prefer going to the departments of economics, or business administration and ordinary citizens are also eager to know the financial and economic knowledge. Even though the demand of economic education, supply side is not able to keep pace this desires. And so this paper will be examined the current situation and challenges of nowadays Korean economic education. In this paper, the fields of the economic education will be classified into 3 area. They are economic education in school, economic education out of school, and for citizens. Economic education in school begins at 2nd grade in elementary school but there are no lessons in 3rd grade and 5th grade. And they are taught at each 1 section on 4th, 6th grade respectively. For 6 years from 1st grade in middle school to 3rd grade in high school, students learn only 3 sections at the 3rd grade of middle school. In school. economic education is too insufficient. Economic education for citizens is conducted very actively. but this education is not standardized yet. Especially economic education for the people of poor class has many problems. Therefore economic education association should have concern of this points.
