The interests are enhancing on multi-cultural argument and immigrant integration policy with the change to multi-cultural society in Korea. In western countries, various multi-cultural arguments has spreaded out during those days. And recently, conservative parties criticize multi-culturalism and insistent its abolition. The opinion which there exist reverse discrim ination caused by multi-cultural policy is persuasive from working class encounting unemployment. Since 1990s, Korean society has increasing become a multi-ethnic and multicultural society. A rapidly growing number of studies on multi-cultural education have been conducted by scholars from various fields. Although immigrants problem in Korea is not yet so threatening mainstream society which just changing to multi-cultural society, it estimates the conflict between multiculturalism and nationalism from the point the second generation of multi-cultural family come out to labor market. And it is very sign ificant the sublimated multicultural education in this point. Therefore, it is necessary to grapple long-timely, macroscopically and generally on the direction and its contents of multi-culturalism, multi-cultural policy and multi-cultural education. And it is important the desirable direction of multi-cultural education and the role of educational experts who are in charge of that in these points. I examined the present condition of multi-cultural families in Korea, the educational issues of multi-cultural families, the educational development implemented by government, department of multi-culture, the current state of research institutes and suggested future tasks in this paper.
