In this study, meridian massage was performed on seven middle-aged female subjects who were diagnosed with abdominal obesity in an Inbody test in the City of Bucheon. Massages were conducted 12 times in total using only hands for seven (7) weeks from April 29 to June 20, 2011. Using Inbody and CT, body fat percentage, Waist-Hip Ratio (WHR), visceral fat and subcutaneous fat were measured. The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of meridian massage on changes in abdominal obesity. As a result, the following conclusions have been obtained: First, thanks to meridian massage, body weight decreased by 1.7kg on average while body fat percentage declined by 1.4%. In addition, WHR and BMI decreased by 0.1% and 1.1kg/m², respectively. Therefore, it has been confirmed that meridian massage had a positive effect on the decrease in abdominal obesity. Second, according to statistical data, body fat percentage decreased by 1.38571% with 0.000% of significant difference in terms of the effect of meridian massage on the decrease in BMI, body fat percentage and WHR. In addition, WHR decreased by 09714 (%) with 0.016% of significant difference. BMI also declined by 1.05714kg/m² with a significant difference (0.036kg/m²). It has been confirmed that meridian massage is effective in reducing body fat percentage, WHR and BMI. Third, in terms of the effect of meridian massage on the decrease in visceral fat and subcutaneous fat among middle-aged women, visceral fat decreased by 17.18571 cm² from 141.7714 to 124.5857 cm² after massage therapy with no significant difference. Subcutaneous fat also decreased by 13.92857 cm² from 53.4286 to 39.5 cm² with significant difference (0.004 cm²).
