The conclusions of research are as follows. The First, The ‘oriental ocean’ appellation were First time named between Korea and Japan in the Bedetto Bordone model(1537). The second, there are lots of maps which were made by Europe named ‘Korean Sea’ or ‘East Sea(Oriental Ocean)’ in the 16C and 17C. The third, the maps named ‘Korean Sea’ or ‘East Sea’ has certain patterns. The pattern is closely connected with the cartographer and the their countries. The fourth, many old maps which are made in France, Italy and Portugal has appellation ‘Korean Sea.’The fifth, it seems that countries has geographical informations about Korea more than other countries. The sixth, we could know there are lots of maps named ‘Korean Sea’ and ‘East Sea’ in the old maps which is centered on Korea. The seventh, the more maps had geographical informations about Korea, the more maps had appellations ‘East Sea’ or ‘Korean Sea.’The analysis of Europe antique maps in the 16th and 17th century shows that ‘East Sea’ appellations consist of 10 models. Among them, the term of ‘Oriental Ocean’ is the most ocean between Korea and Japan.
